Nun sind wir schon einige Tage in Dänemark und das Erste das uns Deutschen ersteinmal klar gemacht werden musste war, dass man sich in Dänemark "duzt"! Das "Siezen" bleibt der Dronning (Königin) überlassen.
Es ist wirklich schwer für mich, meine Professoren zu duzten und nur mit dem Vornamen anzusprechen. Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass eine viel freundlichere und persönlichere Atmosphäre im Unterricht entsteht und auch sonst im Umgang mit Autoritätpersonen.
Der Respekt geht durch das "Duzten"übrigens nicht verloren! ;-)
It is only a few days ago we arrived here in denmark but we have already been confronted with the different culture. AS for us germans it is usual to adress an authority formally, e.g. using the surname when talking to a teacher, we got quite shocked when we heard a student to a teacher as if he was his good friend.
In Germany we keep a certain distance to our authorities to grant them a kind of respect.
Therefore it is pretty difficult for me and the other german students to get used to this new manners. But we like those manners, because it creates a good atmosphere between yourself and an authority.
Besides, for all the critics, the respect for authorities does not get lost through this way of association.
